SHEMBE AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF UBUNAZARETHA FAITH___11/06/2016

May the Sabbath day be a blessing to the holy multitude. Today's sermon is entitled," Shembe and the devepment of ubuNazaretha."

Hymn 147:
The voice of heaven is heard in the entire world. Hearken all ye people, it is not selective, it invites all people. Mountains and hillocks fear that voice, that voce of invitation which invites all nation. It is not selective, it invites all peple. Mountains by their number will report to each other. They will be guilty conscience when that day comes.

Flee ye people, that day is fearfull. Come ye the needy, come ye the destitute, who want that clothe to cover the soul. That day will come, your soul will be wanting."

The name "Shembe", though it is a surname, but it was Shembe's name given by his grandfather, Nhliziyo.Whenever the Lord Galilee Shembe was talking about the Prophet he called him "Shembe". In this sermon we shall also refer to the Prophet Isaiah Shembe, the founder of ubuNazaretha faith, as Shembe.
It is important that when you join the faith you are clear about its theology, so that it does not happen that when you have already joined, you discover that you are taught things which are the opposite of what you thought you know and attracted you to that faith.

The faith's theology is given by the founder of the faith by what he teaches, though it does happen that the theology of the founder is later changed by those who succeed him. The theology of ubuNazaretha faith came with the founder of this faith, Prophet Isaiah Shembe, and was extensively taught by the Lord Galilee Shembe.

In page 263 of Adv. Mnyandu's book entitled "Izintshumayelo zeNkosi iLanga", Lord Galilee Shembe says:"We at eKuphakameni believe that the Spirit of Jesus Christ descended upon Shembe on earth, and that when Shembe was called from his land and was ordered to leave everything he liked and was doing, the Spirit of Jesus had descended upon him.

We also believe that when he came to our land he poured to us this Spirit of Jesus Christ, the holy Spirit, the Spirit which makes people cease to hate each other, the Spirit which makes people love each other. At sometime Shembe said, "I believe in the words of the Scripture, and I also believe that Jesus was on earth in flesh as a human being, but that he was Divine, he is the one who bears witness to the work I am doing, for I am on earth like the Son of God and I bear witness to his work; he preached while he was in flesh. If one believes in the words of Jesus, why does one reject the words of the prophets?"

This sermon of Shembe re-iterated by Lord Galilee Shembe is the theology of ubuNazaretha, it is our Creed. This theology states that before any person believes in Shembe, he must believe that Jesus is the Son of God; and that Shembe is the witness to Jesus's work.

Another theology of ubuNazaretha is that other than being a prophet, Shembe represents the holy Spirit wich comes from God which does not die; which, even after the flesh of Shembe died, this Spirit continued to work on earth.Other Christians try to reject our explanation about this theology, but here we expound ubuNazaretha theology.

What one must understand is that a Christian cannot reject the theology of ubuNazaretha faith merely because it differs from the Christian faith. The fact of the matter is that these are different faiths with different interpretation of the Scripture; and thefore our theology will definately differ.

Those who are amaNazaretha and those who want to join this faith need to know the faith's theology. The theology that Shembe represents the holy Spirit is derived from his words he pronounced on the afternoon of 1st May 1935, 18 hours before he died, found in hymn 220 where he said:"My flesh is tired, it will lie in the tomb; my Spirit will rise and cover the new flesh. From time immemorial I was born; for ever I shall be."

It is ubuNazaretha theology that like Jesus, Shembe did not Spiritually die, though in flesh he died. Lord Galilee Shembe used to expound this theology. In page 221 of Mnyandu's book Lord Galilee Shembe says:"We shall all prish and leave this world, but Shembe does not get old, he also does not die. When we are lying in the graves, Shembe will always be young, he will always talk. Today he is still speaking only here in kwaZulu, there will be time when he will be speaking in India, in New York in America to the Whites."

As Shembe represents the holy Spirit, it is the theology of this faith that ubuNazaretha is Jehova's faith which on earth was revived by the heavenly Messenger, Shembe. This was supported by Lord Galilee Shembe when on page 66 of Mnyandu's book said:"I like to remind you, as the Scripture puts it, that God does make a beautiful thing like this thing of yours, but He is not doing this for the people. God did not make ubuNazaretha for the people, but He made this for Himself, this is His own thing. It is not for the people, it is not also for Shembe( referring to himself), it is not for my sons or for my brothers. It is also not for the priests of eKuphakameni; it is for God"

The title of this sermon is, "Shembe and the development of ubuNazaretha." By this title we intend to show what vision Shembe had about the development and the spread of ubuNazaretha.The hymn we read talks about the voice of heaven. The voice of heaven refers to the heavely Gospel. Shembe says that the heavenly Gospel has been heard all over the world, people must accept it, for it is not selective, it calls for all people.

In advancing this Gospel in hymn 208 Shembe says, "Flourish, flourish buNazaretha; nations are thirsty, they want to drink from you, and be fully religious through your Word."

Shembe is therefore saying that ubuNazaretha should not just be the faith of kwaZulu, but must spread to all nations, for all nations need it. This Gospel is supported by Lord Galilee when on page 293-294 of Mnyandu's book says:

" Nowadays God has sent Shembe to the whole world. His Word has been heard in England, America, India and in Russia. God has not come to help only the Zulus, but to help all nations; His message will be in all languages. 

By your writings other people will enter heaven, others will be able to preach and convert other people. If this book of Shembe were available, others would be using it for preaching, for it is something which is occurring now."

On page 26:46 of Mnyandu's book Lord Galilee said: "It does occur to me that I leave here and go to preach. I know that if I go to Putukezi (Mozambique) I can go as far as Malawi, to Tanzania and futher, for the SCENT OF SHEMBE IS NOW ALL OVER THE WORLD."

What did Lord Galilee mean when he said that the scent of Shembe is now all over the world? In 2010 there was a story of a converted Satanic girl which was in all papers of England. The story emanated from Cameroon in Africa. Whilst a Satanist, this girl caused the overturn of the bus which killed 48 people in Cameroon. We first hear girls in England talking about this incident:

U must read this and pray. Especially you guys from Africa although you have emigrated but your relatives may be suffering already!! By the way what does Shembe mean? I can understand that it has to do with something of Holy or so, but how come in RSA are there so many "so called" born again churches which are predominatly overshadowing such a wonderful thing to happen on earth, and they're usually run by Foreign Pastors? Isn't it the Satanism in disguise using Jesus's name to feed the beast? I've seen some Shembe photos in the Theology Gallery @ Oxford University and he seems humble.

Eureka Brown is apparetly an English lady who was writing to her African friends who live in England. Amongs these friends there was Zayedwa Ngubane who comes from South Africa.
In this story which is based on the interview between this girl, Claudine Mambu, and the Post newspaper jounalist, we have extracted the story concerning Shembe as it goes:
TP: Who is the prince?
Claudine: We just called him Prince; he is the son of the king.
TP: So what is your relationship with the people of the kingdom now?
Claudine: No relationship, now. Since my deliverance, I declared that the boundary between us is the blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit who introduced Himself to me as SHEMBE who is the Comforter but revealed Himself in a form of an African male. So, they can't do anything to me. 
When I was delivered, they came at night and threatened to kill my son, whom I had initiated into the cult, if I didn't return. I took my mothers' image to the kingdom too and usually used it when traveling. At times we traveled to South Africa, America, Europe and other places.
TP: You mean the Holy Spirit that Jesus promised to His believers has another name other than just Holy Spirit? Is the Spirit in the form of human or it is just flowing in the air to reach everyone with a good heart?
Claudine: The Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ are in one; but for the Human kind to differentiate between Holy Spirit and Evil Spirit; the Holy Spirit had to be transformed into Human and be given a Heavenly name called SHEMBE. THIS NAME WAS ALSO WRITTEN ON HIS UPPER BODY PART (shoulders) AS HE WAS LEAVING.
TP: What was it like speaking to a man of Heaven? How did He promise to save the world from this Evil Spirit?
Claudine: He didn't say much except that I must repent. He further said that the Religion of the Almighty exist in South Africa but His messengers are about to spread His word throughout Africa, that is when and how the Evil spirit will be defeated. He kept warning me about worshipers who worship in tents. He said they used fancy language but their work is of evil and they're dangerous. To tell the truth; I was afraid at first but as He continued talking I felt some strange love which made me cry and wish He could stay a bit longer, if I and my family can have enough funds we can go to South Africa and become its citizen, because maybe I will be long dead when the Almighty's Religion arrives in Cameroon."

The story of this Cameroon lady shocked me. In 1980's I was engaged in a research about Prophet Isaiah Shembe. When I interviewed Dlomo, our church secretary, he told me that when Shembe became a prophet, he saw a spiritual Person coming from his chest. At the back of this person the name "SHEMBE" was written on the back of his shoulders. I was fascinated by this story and I then wrote it in my book entitled "Izwi lezulu".

Even now it is there on page 31 of this book. What surprised me was to get a similar story from a Cameroon girl, which had been given by the Prophet so many years ago.

This Spiritual Shembe, Claudine Mambu is talking about, is the very Shembe Lord Galilee Shembe is talking about on pages 136-137 of Mnyandu's book when he said:"I just saw being visited by two unknown people who introduced themselves to me as Chief Ndaba and Rev. Siwela. They said they were sent to me by a White lady from uMgungundlovu who had not married saying she was waiting for the coming back of Jesus Christ.

They reported to me that in her fasting or waiting she saw something very strange; she was approached by a strange person who asked what she was doing. She said she was waiting for Jesus Christ.

That person then said," My child, Jesus has long come to earth, he has again gone back." The lady then said," Who are you?" He then said," I am Jesus." She then said," but you are a black person?" He then said, "To Blacks I am black, to Whites I am white and to Indians I am the Indian."

This lady then saw the hair of this person becoming white, he became White, he then said," I told you that I am every person, I have long come to earth, why did you not go to eKuphakameni? Now go to eKuphakameni, I am sending you there, and tell my children that the devil is surrounding them, he wants to destroy them. Tell them that they should not allow themselves to be scattered or become weak. Tell them that the white garment will start from eKuphakameni and reach Mzilikazi." This was the message Ndaba and Siwela were coming to deliver to me."

Apart from this story given by Lord Galilee Shembe, it was I who had written a book entitled " Ushembe onguMoya ongcwele" ( The Spiritual Shembe), where I was explaining the concept of the holy Spirit from ubuNazaretha perspective, and explaining how the Spiritual Shembe came to Sitheya, the mother of the Prophet, whilst she was still a virgin, long before the Prophet existed.

Apart from that, in 2010 the Angel Hlaleleni, came to me and told me that I should establish the Church of God where I should preach about the Laws of God as they were taught by the very Spiritual Shembe Lord Gallilee is talking about; and that this Gospel should no longer be confined to kwaZulu but should go to all nations.

My greatest surprise was how this very Shembe I am told to preach his Gospel, becomes the very Shembe talked about in England and in Cameroon? How is the Gospel about the kingdom of God the Angel is telling me about is now talked about by the Cameroon lady?

But when we re-visited the internet we discovered that the story relating to Shembe had been removed except the story ralating toJesus. The question of Eureka Brown which was," but how come in RSA are there so many "so called" born again churches which are predominatly overshadowing such a wonderful thing to happen on earth", was immediately answered.

We communicated with the jounalist who interviewed Claudine Mambu. He then said he would come back to us, but he thereafter disappeared. I however understood his problem.

I then decided that we abondoned the whole matter, for fear that if Claudine eventually come to South Africa and find many Shembes, claiming to be the chosen Shembe, she will be confused and disappointed; then the enemies of this faith will laugh at her and say, "forget about this Shembe thing, it is still the continuation of Satanism, you see it yourself, come back to Jesus." This would then be the end of this Divine Truth.
It is through this that I again talk about this topic, for there will be a time that this truth about the holy Spiritual Shembe is internationally known, and both the amaNazaretha and the Christians will be disccussing this matter.
